Commission of Musical Works


Composer, pedagogue, music publicist and pianist. Lives and works in Maribor.

EDUCATION:

- Academy of Music in Ljubljana: degree in composition (1967, class of Prof. Matija Bravničar),

- post-graduate studies (1969, class of Prof. Lucijan Marija ©kerjanc),

- advanced study courses in Venice (1969-70, V. Mortara),

- advanced study courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena (1971-72, F. Donatoni) and in Rome (1972-73, G. Petrassi).

CAREER:

- lecturer at the Intermediate Music School in Maribor,

- an engaged founder member of the Society of Kosovo Composers, the Faculty of Arts in Pri¹tina and the Festival Days of Kosovo Music.

- he was Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Pri¹tina and president of the Society of Kosovo Composers.

AWARDS AND PRIZES:

- awards at competitions of the Association of Music Societies of Kosovo, 1966, 1968,

- Pre¹eren Prize of the University of Ljubljana, 1967,

- award in form of commission at the International Choral Festival in Celje, 1967,

- The December Award of Kosovo, 1968,

- award in form of commission for a musicological essay, by the Yugoslav magazine Zvuk (Sound), 1971,

- prizes at competitions of the Pri¹tina Radio and Television, 1974, 1977,

- two awards of the Society of Kosovo Composers, 1977, 1989,

- Medal with Silver Wreath awarded by the presidency of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ), 1982.

OUTPUT:

He is a follower of quite contemporary trends and techniques. At the moment his output counts approximately 130 works for symphony orchestra, chamber, vocal-instrumental, choral and soloist formations. His compositions were performed at festivals and concerts in former Yugoslavia, Albania, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Finland and elsewhere. He organized several concerts devoted to his own works, both in Slovenia and Kosovo.

Capriccio sinfonico (1967), Concerto stretto (1978/79), Sinfonia 83.

VOCAL-INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC:

Pro memoria 1462 (1989), Prova generale (1994), Akrostichos (1995).

CHORAL WORKS:

To the Poets (1965), Humoresque (1982), Do t'ia them nje kenge (1984), Dona nobis (1997).

CHAMBER MUSIC:

Suita breve for violin and viola (1970), Shtytje for oboe, clarinet, violin, guitar and piano (1972), Verticale for clarinet, piano and percussion (1973), Kuartetet harkore nr. 1 (1980), Kuartetet harkore nr. 2 (1989), Dialogue for flute and clarinet (1982), Divertimento for oboe, clarinet and bassoon (1986), Trio for violin, violoncello and piano (1983), Nostalgic Song for accordion, piano in percussion (1991).

SOLO WORKS:

Air nuancé for English horn (1970), Frequentiae for clarinet and piano (1973), Monologue for clarinet (1975), Studio for oboe and piano (1976), Suite for flute, Multiphonia for clarinet (1977), Glissandi for violin and piano (1977), Bilbili for recorder and piano (1978), Quasi una ballata for guitar (1982), Cadenza for saxophone and piano (1990), Canticum scodrense for accordion and piano (1992), Strophes for flute and piano (1997).
