In having been awarded this status, the Society was given full recognition by the Republic of Slovenia as being indispensable and of great importance within the Slovene cultural space. However in terms of co-finance on the part of the state, the Society is treated as any other association.

The activities of the Society are wide-ranging and extensive. Therefore members of the society decided to set up a department of professional collaborators in order to realize the visions of the members, to help with the organization of music programmes and to publish scores and issue CDs. Up to date many people have been employed by the Society in order to help realize composers.
